Relaxation Week!
Mar 22nd, 2009 by Tonia

I have determined that the first half of this week is totally going to be relaxation. I am *not* going out or making plans unless it is something extremely relaxing. I’ve been so crazy the past few weeks that it’s time to settle down again. My goal? Pool every day after work :)

This weekend a friend from Detroit is coming to visit and I will have plenty to keep me busy then. There will be baseball games, get togethers, farmers markets, tourist attractions, grilling, and pool time :)

Feb 28th, 2009 by Tonia

I’m done for today. Took my all to even blog the little bits I did from this week :)

I’m going to do some laundry.

Headed to get my car washed/waxed.

Then off to the pool.

Coffee with a friend.

Fundraiser party of awesome tonight.

Tax Pain
Feb 28th, 2009 by Tonia

Oy. I haven’t done my own taxes in a few years because I had previously always had some crazy situation that made them complicated, such as having my own business and living in three states in one year.

I figured this year even though I had two states and a move, the move wasn’t as complicated as they were in the past, and I closed my business last year so I should be set. I decided that Thursday night was going to be the night I sat down and finished my taxes to see how much I can put towards my new Mac that I’ll be getting next week (more on that later).

Ends up I can’t complete them. There is an error on one of my W2 which could possibly mean someone owes me a refund for being overtaxes. Either way I cannot file until I receive at least a corrective W2. Shit. One more thing I have to wait on someone else for. Attempted to contact someone about it Friday and no avail.

After that I was frustrated I had set aside my whole night for that. Luckily Amy called and needed to get out so we headed to my pool area where we lost track of time. It was almost 1am before we left.

Taxes suck.

Trading in Paczki for a Poolside!
Feb 24th, 2009 by Tonia

I completely forgot until late this morning that it was Mardis Gras today! Oops. Oh well.

Although I missed the paczki Michigan offers me to remind me of this day, I was glad to trade them in for the lovely 87 degree day I experienced and the two hour poolside time I was able to have because of it.

Starting to work on that summer tan (aka the legs). Yes!!!

Okay I guess I didn’t have as much to say about that as I thought. Don’t want to piss off my midwestern friends too much! :)

The Pool is Ready to Go
Dec 27th, 2008 by Tonia

On my way to the on site gym to get some running in today I noticed that the chain was off of our pool area so I decided to see if I could get in… and I could!

The pool / hot tub is officially ready to use and I am about ready to try it out. Is 49 degrees too cold to use an outdoor heated pool?

The whole area is stunning with a patio and barbeque area near it. The pool has a steaming hot tub area, gorgeous wicker couches with canopies over them and waterfalls. Best part is, it’s heated year round!

Not tempting anyone to come visit Arizona at all!!

Here is a photo I snapped on my BB this morning of the waterfalls.

Social Director

Thursday night we received notification that our complex’s clubhouse, pool, and exercise room were ready for their debut. Yesterday from 4-6 in the evening they were holding a wine and cheese party in the clubhouse to hand out keys and celebrate. I figured I had nothing else to do and I did want my key so I headed on over around 4:30 after work. I sat down at the bar, started to have some wine and soon ended up in conversation with a few other women in the complex and one of their husbands.

I also ended up in a debate about Wal-Mart with one of the employees boyfriends and another resident as well. And no, it was not due to the amount of wine I had, I really just cannot stand Wal-Mart. So much so, that I won’t even link to them as I speak their horrid name.

We easily cleaned off the few bottles of wine there, and I discovered a red that I actually don’t mind. It was Layer Cake Malbec. Mmmm. Not that bad. They had a sparkling white, but it was a brut and not that exciting but still not horrible. I got a giggle out of everyone staring oddly at the cheeses with “odd colored rines.”

At 6 when they kicked us out because office hours were over, we all decided we were not done hanging out. Elisa and Brittany and I headed out in my car for some drinks while Kayla walked her dog. While in the fruit section for an orange, we discovered that there are actually red Bartlett pears. Did anyone else know this? I have an interesting photo of Elisa showcasing the pears, but I’ll post just the pears instead.

We all met up at my house along with Elisa’s husband and ordered pizza from Barros (mmmm) and played RB2 and had some drinks. It was so much fun that we all decided to have a chili party next Friday. Kayla and I will be making chili, and there will be some desserts and drinks (yummy).

The best part I think is when we all exchanged phone numbers and emails on napkins when we all had our blackBerrys sitting out well within reach.

I found balance today by finding some potential new friends. I also had the courage to go do something by myself, which might be hard to believe for people, but I really do have a hard time doing that in a social setting.
